GTA V Modding Launcher 0.7.8 BETA

This launcher needs .NET 5 Desktop Runtime (x64) to work. It usually is not installed by default on most Windows computers
The launcher is open source on github.
This launcher enables you to easily switch between several sets of mods without having to move the mods yourself. It can also be used to move all your mods outside of your game directory automatically.
In order for the launcher to work properly, all vanilla files have to be genuine. GTA V can be modded without replacing any core file, which is, in my opinion, the best practice. Since the launcher works by moving files, it obviously won't work if core files have been modified.
For example, if you want to modify vanilla .rpf files, you must keep the original file as it is, and use OpenIV.asi for the game to load the modified version in the "mods" folder.
How to use the launcher ?
Simply create a new profile (with the + button), make it active (with a right click on its name) and put mods in your game's folder normally (while being sure not to replace any base game file).
When first starting the launcher, if your game is already modded, a new profile called "Modded Profile" will automatically be created with the current mods.
How does it work ?
The launcher searches for modded files using a provided manifest of all vanilla files. When you switch profiles, it moves the mods in the GTA V directory to an external folder, then moves the mods of the other profile to the game. Using this launcher, you don't need several "Grand Theft Auto V" folders anymore !

cool
@Pursuit Just so you know I had to download the x64 version for the launcher to work
@Thorrmak Hi! Thanks for the info, I must've changed my compilation options at some point.
I updated the description to refer to the x64 version instead. I'm also now using an aka.ms link to always refer to the latest version of .NET 5 released by Microsoft
Holy f shit, this mod is a MUST HAVE! Honestly I fd it up when I run it for the first time, when I deleted the modding profile it DELETED everything (I know it would but I thought it would delete the profile's files not the ones inside the GTAV folder even when vanilla profile was selected. Anywas, after 4 hours of installing everything back again (like 26 mods carefully installed through the whole the last year lmfao) I know how to handle this tool and again, is a MUST to have. Thank you so much for this man.
@GlennCroft Glad you find it useful! And sorry for the initial misunderstanding ^^'
I'll try to work on a way to make it crystal clear that deleting a profile will delete the mods within it in a future update
@Pursuit yeah lol, no worries man! I would advice to everyone that has a lot of mods and custom things installed and tweaked inside the gtav folder that first move EVERYTHING beside the vanilla files out of the gtav folder, then run your launcher, and set as active profile the Vanilla profile. Then set as active profile the Modded Profile and move everything back to the gtav folder. That way when you set as default the vanilla profile it takes everything out and send it to the profiles folder, as intended. Seriously, awesome job man, thank you again!
For Some Reason even after Downloading and running .net 5.0 it aint launching still requires it but its there already
@FlameTheRager Hi! Unfortunately there's multple versions of .NET so it can be confusing...
Did you install .NET Desktop Runtime 5 x64 ? You can download it here: https://aka.ms/dotnet/5.0/windowsdesktop-runtime-win-x64.exe
managed to get it running but some mods are not compatible like the mods that alter the main game code like Euphoria ragdolls, however it is fine, Either way it is a great launcher and pretty clean in design.
@FlameTheRager Hi! I'm not familiar with the mods you mentioned - do they alter vanilla RPF files, or other files? If you're talking about RPF files, you can modify them without overriding the vanilla version by using OpenIV.asi & the "mods" folder
Fair Enough, I'll Look Into It.
Would it be possible to set it up so we don't have to duplicate shared files between profiles?
@The Loot That's an interesting idea! I'll keep it in mind for a future update, thanks :)
Coming back to say still the best mod folder manager there's out there.
it seems it caused an issue where game wont load and says is already running even when its not issue persisted even after deleteing the mod manager and i had to reinstall the game to get it to launch
@Dakota44 Hi! Are you sure the issue was caused by the launcher? Apart from moving mods around, it shouldn't affect your game in any way.
It's possible that an unidentified vanilla file was mistakenly treated as a modded file - when you launched the game for the first time, did the launcher say your game was modded? And if so, was it supposed to be modded?
To where does it move mods to? I created a new profile, and then ran Vanilla so i could play Online, and now when I go to the modded profile all mods are gone.
@AVGUSERS Hi! The launcher moves the mods to the "Profiles" folder next to GTAVModdingLauncher.exe
All mods should be moved back to your game's folder when you switch back to your modded profile though...
needs to be updated since it removes the battleye files when switching to vanilla
@nodarthvaderwastaken Indeed - I'll do that asap
In the meantime, you can modify the GameManifest.xml file to include the new files
