Hit by nostalgic feeling from Max Payne 3 and decided to make this simple cosmetic mod
For those who have played Max Payne 3 may remember its Trail Carry feature
Which is a weapon carrying technique of putting aside a main firearm to the left-hand
Charging through enemy with sidearm while still carrying your main gun
🛠️How it works:
In 2.0, Trail Carry have 3 modes, I will explain each below
OnWeaponSwap
When you swap from main gun to sidearm, it will activate Trail Carry, just like the pics
OnReloadActivation
If you empty a magazine of main gun, Trail Carry will be activated (sidearm randomly picked from ur inventory
OR if you have Visible Weapons, it will use whatever sidearm it finds in any slot visible)
ControlYourCarry
Trail Carry will only activate when you hold a combo of buttons.
You hold E + C for ~1 sec (Look Behind and Horn key, gamepad too) and it will put whatever you use now to the left hand,
when you switch weapons, that previously saved weapon will stay there no matter what, until you press the combo buttons again.
📝Note:
Modes above can be switched on-off from the ini along with other optional settings
(ex: hide weapon when reload, etc)
Main gun (the one that you'll carry) = Rifles, Big SMGs, MGs, Shotguns, Snipers
Sidearm (the one that will be used for shooting) = Pistols, Small SMGs
⚠️Requirement:
ScriptHookVDotNet3, use only the nightly version!
GTAV Enhanced is not supported (it may work, it may not, idk)
Recommended to use my Visible Weapons, now synchronizes with Trail Carry
❓How to Install:
Inside the rar there are 2 things: TrailCarry.dll, TrailCarry.ini
Put all of them into the "/scripts" folder, the usual for script mods, located in gta main folder
🐞Bugs:
Simply, the aiming looks weird (doesn't move dynamically) and i hate it.
The animation is the only way to make the player hands separated and hold the pistol one-handed.
If you are a script dev and know how to use SET_WEAPON_ANIMATION_OVERRIDE properly, please contact me.
⚔️Incompatibility:
Don't use it with Gangster Aim or any script mods that force change the aiming style, it will conflict. At least don't activate Trail Carry when the said mod is running

Brilliant mod! This is unrelated, but in GTA V, if you shoot a ped in the head, they die instantly, but if a ped shoots another ped in the head, they don't necessarily die depending on how much health they have - NPC vs. NPC headshots are often not fatal. Would it be possible to make NPCs kill each other instantly with headshots? I think it would really add to immersion!
@CoronaPrime I might, lemme finish Dual Wield update first. It is possible but i just worry about the performance side on scanning all npc in combat

Attention!! For users who are updating or installing ScriptHookVDotNet.Nightly. Please do not update to ScriptHookVDotNet-v3.7.0-nightly.26 if you still want to use this mod, as this is incompatible with this mod for now. Update will be addressed but i still got to finish Dual Wield Reboot big update.
@tmquz maybe, but i don't recommend it as Pickups overrides the vanilla weapon swap system, can't guarantee anything
the shvdn-nightly.26 incompatibility resolved, you're free to use it now with this mod
