UPDATE: Standalone LUA script version added!
Want to play music while on foot in GTA V?
This mod is an edited version of the Native Trainer that allows you to access the radio while on foot.
To enable go to the MISC option in the Native Trainer menu and select "ENABLE MOBILE RADIO". When this is turned on, you can now access the radio stations just as you would while in a vehicle.
I've included the source for anyone that wants to integrate this mod in their version of the Native Trainer.
To Install NativeTrainer Version:
1. Install ScriptHook (not included) to your GTA V directory.
2. Move the NativeTrainer.asi file from this zip to your GTA V directory.
3. Enable via the MISC menu in the Native Trainer.
To Install Standalone LUA script Version:
1. Install ScriptHook (not included) to your GTA V directory
2. Install the LUA Plugin for Script Hook V (not included) to your GTA V directory
3. Place the mobileradio.lua file in your "[GTA V ROOT]\scripts\addins\" directory

@duration you can do it just open document>rockstar games>user music
then in game open menu>audio>scan
Is it possible to change the key for starting the radio?
@duration yes it can bro..you can do "self radio" where you put your song to a folder at document/rockstar games/GTA v/user music...then you are on game go to setting,audio..select quick scan for music..then magic happen...all the song you put can be listen at GTA V...(you need to do quick scan for 5-6 times" then you should see "self radio" at the menu.
My laptop doesn't have any numpads, so is there any alternative letter keys?
Hi I LOVE this mod! Quick question: I went with the Native Trainer that comes with this mod since it was the simplest way to install it. But I was thinking of upgrading to a more complex trainer at some point. Will this mod with with other trainers like it does Native Trainer, or will I have to go with the LUA install option? I have yet to install LUA on my game yet.
@LaikeGlove, @paulfrohlich that I think is essential. Because otherwise you have it enabled in a car and you can not change stations with it off while driving.
Is there anyway to get this to work while swimming, it just doesn't want to. TYIA
WOW...all I can say is WOW....this is one of the mods I was looking for. I saw some videos on youtube about something like this, some type of glitch that enables you to listen to the radio while walking but, in order to activate that glitch you have to be on-line playing, I was looking for "single player" and this one worked like a charm. Personally I don't like "Native Trainer", I think it's a piece of shit, never really had that many choices per se in comparison to simple trainer which I like so I decided to just install the LUA Plugin, followed the instructions correctly and Voila! the mobile radio station worked like a charm. I noticed someone here said that you can't turn it off during cut scenes well that's because they're probably using Native Trainer for this, use LUA and you can turn the radio on and off just as if you were in a car, as simple as that. If you're doing a mission then turn it off before you get in the mission obviously otherwise it will stay on during mission intros. Also, delete any "sample" files that come in the "addins" folder by default first before adding the "mobileradio.lua" file in it because that may cause you problems in the game. With the LUA Plugin there's no need to open any menus, just press the appropriate key in keyboard or button in controller that you normally use to turn on the radio in a car, do that while walking and the radio menu will pop. Super cool mod, highly recommended! Thanks LaikeGlove!
when i press q the radio opens while on foot, i just need to change that key as iam using many other mods which require q so how can i change the key to open radio ?
is it possible to make this work as a server side client script on a fivem server? tried adding it with no luck as a client script, and as a server script. any idea what i need to do to make it work? no errors on the server side of things. and a server side trainer works to make it work, but i have yet to figure out how it does that.
@JAM102970 There is a better one on Simple Native Trainer, I use that one instead, its much better.
@Official General You mean there's a new version of "simple trainer"? or a new version of "Native trainer"? The two trainers are similar but, not the same, don't get the two mixed up. Which new one are you talking about? New version of which one?
@JAM102970 its called Simple Trainer https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav it has Mobile Radio and it is much better than this one. I don't use Native Trainer, Simple Trainer is much better by miles.
@Official General Thanks a lot for that link, I didn't even know there was a newer version of Simple Trainer. It's been a while since I looked into that. Simple Trainer is the one I use but I've being busy installing other mods in my game and completely forgot to check if there was an update to it. I just took a look in my directory and realized I have the old 5.8 version installed which was uploaded back in July 09, 2017. I'll install the newer one now, Thanks for the info.
@JAM102970 Mobile Radio has been in Simple Trainer for a VERY long time, you probably just did not notice it. I started using early 2017 and it's always been there since I've been using it. It is in the main options menu, just have a look around.
@Official General I have to take a closer look at what options Simple Trainer has to offer because there are some mods here that don't need to be downloaded because Simple Trainer has 'em already. For example, not too long ago I installed the "SinglePlayer Reveal Map" Mod because I wanted to see the full map displayed in the game but later while browsing thru the Simple Trainer options found out Simple Trainer had that already so went ahead and uninstalled that mod because it wasn't necessary. Mobile Radio is another one I didn't know it was available in Simple Trainer. That's two mods I like but, don't really need to install independently. The less clutter and unnecessary mods I have in my directory the better. Thanks again for your info.
Escanor!
