Vanilla Vehicles Emissives Fix edits vanilla vehicle models in order to fix the excessive emission of glow on certain parts of select vehicles in the game. This is especially noticeable on mods that modify vehicles' light emissions in order to have sirens, headlights, breaklights, etc. appear brighter in-game. In a word, you could refer to this as patched vanilla vehicles.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Some of you may ask, "Many other mods claim to fix the same thing, yet most of them don't work. How is this mod any different?"
This mod fixes the core of the problem: The vehicle model shader used. No .ytd edits that reduce the contrast of some textures (from experience, this method does not work most of the time, especially on excessive configs, unless bloom is reduced/disabled). Now, you may raise the brightness levels higher without worrying about mini-Suns roaming around the map (unless that's what you're aiming for).
This mod only affects vanilla vehicles. If you have replaced the same vehicles as this mod does, then sorry to say this mod won't have an effect for you. It is up to mod authors to adapt the method I have used for this mod, which I have explained below.
HOW IT WORKS:
If you're looking to implement this same method to your vehicle mods, this is how it works:
By default, these vehicles' materials use a certain shader called "vehicle_lightsemissive" to render the light effect. While nice, altering the vanilla values in visualsettings to be at desirable levels on some vehicles (say, you want brighter sirens for cop cars) would cause it to be brighter than the Sun. This said shader was replaced with the "vehicle_emissive_opaque" shader which grants lightweight emissions on affected models. In a nutshell, it makes use of an alternative emissive shader in order to fix the stressed issue.
AFFECTED VEHICLES LIST:
This is a list of vanilla vehicles altered by this mod:
I may have missed some vehicles from the game, but that's up to you guys to let me know. I will continue to update this mod until every vanilla vehicle in need of fixing has been modified. On the event that you discover a vehicle I have missed, please let me know in the comments or in my Discord Server linked at the bottom of the description so I may update this mod accordingly.

I think R* is not in vain did not make the glow so bright, because the text of the signs becomes completely unreadable.
@Stryfaar THANKS THIS IS AMAZING!
@Padhu Simply remove the "spoozefix" entry from update/update.rpf/common/data/dlclist.xml
@MARK2580 Perhaps, but on the Arena War update, vehicles use a similar shader as this mod which does not cause any lighting issues when increasing defaultlight values from visualsettings.dat
@azzman_01 Thank you too! :)
@Stryfaar np!
@Stryfaar turning down is ok, but why did you complelely removed emissive effect on the vehicles?
@MrGTAmodsgerman They all still emit light, just not that noticeable during the day anymore. I didn't turn any values up or down, this is just a simple shader replacement.
@Stryfaar Is there any chance you might fix the bright dashboard lights in many vehicles as well? Such as the radio display of the Schwartzer.
@prince_linus That would mean editing each individual model of those vehicles hahaha so perhaps not as of now
Simple mod yet very useful!
Is it possible to make something like this for Add-On cars?
@JustGTAFan Of course it is! However, that's up to the respective cars' mod authors to do :) I've written the method used in the description.
fi TO THE MOTHERFUCKING nally!
was looking for this mod and couldn't find it. luckily past me isn't so dumb so i had already the files. just came to thank you for this fix
is this already compatible with the cayo perico heist version and version 1.3 of visual vanilla?
Nice mod!
@Stryfaar Hey man, thanks for making this, like lots of others here I have been looking for something like this so I can have more intense flashing sirens, like the ones you provided in VisualVanilla. Just a heads up, I have installed the 'Intense Vehicle Emissives' option, and used this fix after, and some of the custom cabs from World of Variety are not affected by this fix, so the advert banners on the top of the cars still glow intensely. Just a pic I took off the WoV page for reference https://imgur.com/a/6qWUAjx
My opinion but you sir are a legend. a hundred million dollar mod for free and promises to keep it that way too. I will definately be supporting this. And anyone who loves this mod should too. send him twice what you paid the other dude just to prove that you dont need to extort people for money cause if you give them something they hold dearly, they will support what they love. Luke ross was actually hard to find to give him some cash for bringing this masterpiece to VR. Thanks for this.
Incredible. Absolutely phenomenal.
tysm
i just hate the dark atmosphere how to remove it?
are the only vehicles affected by this the ones mentioned? are all vehicles?
