@SentinelGuardian
You need OpenIV for this, watch a guide online if you are confused
@Batlez does it have to be OpenIV and not CodeWalker? I really don't want to download GTA V legacy just so I can open OpenIV.
@SentinelGuardian You can use OpenIV for Enhanced, you just need to rename GTA5_Enhanced to GTA5.exe, and then it will work. After you are done using OpenIV, just rename the .exe back to Enhanced and you will be good to go
this might've also made my game unplayable
@Alex106 For some reason during the mission reuniting the family Jimmy's jacket is showing the decals from his jersey and i'm not sure why this keeps occuring I've temporarily removed all asi files and even unloaded OpenIV.ASI but the issue keeps happening I'm guessing it's due to either a save or updates from rockstar.
@63eg2 What do you mean by unplayable?
@waffl7 It's a game bug, but I can't fix it
Alex106 Oh alright i figured I'm assuming it's caused by a newer build of GTA 5 but then again i'm not sure.
@Alex106 by unplayable i mean like it would crash when i get into the game
like for maybe 2 seconds
i already fixed it, though by reinstalling the game
@waffl7 No it's much older, since the release of the Gunrunning DLC actually
@Alex106 Ah alright do you know which version doesn't have this issue so i could downgrade to it? I just really hate this bug because it ruins the experience for me with the mods that i've been secretly working on and haven't released yet because i'm mostly waiting until they're completely finished. I also noticed that franklin for some reason does not wear a mask during the big score heist with the Obvious approach and this also is annoying because I'm not sure if it's a save issue but i believe it could be since i downloaded a save right before the mission so i could test it for a mod that i'm still working on but it's clear that it's not a mod related issue but either a bug or save issue.
@waffl7 You would need to downgrade back to the build 791, 877 or 944 (which are really old)
As for Franklin, it's the same bug as with NPCs, but reversed. Any "DECL" component is invisible for the three main characters, and the two MP characters
This happens when playing in offline mode and it's not related to the save games or mods
@Alex106 Alright i appreciate the response and I guess it is shitty if the issue with franklins mask is related to playing in offline mode, Especially since it's a lot more enjoyable for single player modding and not having to see the annoying rockstar pop ups everytime i launch the game. But as for the other issue I'm not sure where i'll be able to find one of the other builds but I still am probably going to try because it's annoying that rockstar manages to fuck up their old game somehow even more after several updates let alone for Story mode. smh (Also you were right about the decal issue being related to playing in offline mode but if that also ties in with franklins heist mask not appearing in the big score mission during the obvious approach that is absolute garbage.)
Do I only need to install the Update.rpf OIV package; or would I need to also install the spfixes folder contents too?
Also, do I install the OVI package in mods folder or the root game folder.
@GTA5FGGG_REAL You need to install both and yes, in the mods folder
does this work?
Hi Alex, can this be used alongside "GameplayFixesV" by SuleMareVientu?
@supergamer777 If you mean with the Enhanced version, yes
@Arthandas Yes
@Alex106 Do you work on weapon fixes or small vanilla edits anymore? Because from what I have seen, the carbine rifle and assault shotgun in the next gen versions has different iron sights compared to the xbox360 and ps3 versions, where the sights are a bit larger and better looking imo. I dunno if you would be able to make those, but it's entirely upto you since it is already a lot of work for to handle big projects like these and gives no time for minor mods.
@Default_Username I could, but it would cause the view in first person to be obstructed, so it's not really worth IMO
@Alex106 totally makes sense. Although before closing the conversation, I definitely would suggest taking the next gen iron sights and modifying them to heavily resemble the old gen ones. What I have noticed is that Rockstar not only changed the placement or alignment of the sights in the next gen versions, but they also basically trimmed some of the areas of the iron sights to make them look smaller.
Taking the old gen models themselves and restoring them seems like a very bad idea as you said, because they might actually be obstructive due to alignment differences.
By the way, this is what I mean to say about the iron sights being "trimmed". https://postimg.cc/Bt7Q3z7t
