This mod will fix the broken spawn mechanism of underwater pickups / hidden packages.
Features
• Fixed respawn behavior (pickups not spawning)
• Discrete respawn timers for each pickup
• Customizable respawn times
Requirements
• Latest Script Hook V
• Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable (x64)
Installation
1. Install ScriptHook V
2. Copy "UnderwaterPickups.asi" and "UnderwaterPickups.ini" into the GTA 5 root directory, where GTA5.exe is located.
Underwater pickup spawns are broken in GTA V?
Yes, because of two reasons. First: All underwater pickups share the same respawn timer. If any pickup is collected, the game will remove all other underwater pickups from the map and they will not respawn for 24 hours (ingame time). Second: The game doesn't check if an underwater pickup is actually collected. If the player pass an area nearby* an underwater pickup without collecting it, all pickups will be removed from the map and will not respawn for 24 hours.
*nearby means up to 200m away from actual pickup
This mod fix both issues. Each pickup is tracked individually and respawn timers will only start when the pickup is actually collected.
Configuration
The mod can be configured by editing the "UnderwaterPickups.ini" file. Each setting is explained in the ini file.
The default respawn time for each pickup is 24 hours. If the respawn time is set to 0, the packages will respawn immediately after leaving the pickup area. This can be done by either swimming away 200m from the collected pickup or switching characters back and forth.

New Update: Supports all upcomming game versions!
Version 2.0 has some major changes under the hood by changing the game version detection to a memory pattern detection.
That means it will now work with any upcomming game version and you don't have to wait for mod updates anymore.
@TrustNo1 yes. I hope I will have some spare time to update it in the next days.
Hmm... "game version unsupported" comes up when booting GTA. Seems like it doesn't work anymore with all upcoming versions?
@drail I will look into it.
@TrustNo1 @dtrail Version 2.2 should work again with tuners dlc and upcomming versions
@PsychoDad Thank you!
@PsychoDad
Awesome! I appreciate the update, thank you. :)
good👍
thanks for fixing the game
is this still needed?
@breadfan85
Yes. R* hasn't and likely will not "fix" hidden package spawn issues.
@PsychoDad unfortunately, it's that time again. This was working until the 'second surprise update'. I seriously hate the way 'R' set this up in SP. I get they didn't want anyone to make money too easy in MP ('cause how else would they sell shark cards?) But, offline in SP the setup is whack.
@iammistahwolf I'll take a look at this as soon as I have time (probably next week)
@PsychoDad Thanks! Weird thing though, if you put in the latest 'Map Fixes' your mod suddenly works again....
@iammistahwolf I've looked into your issue today, but I can't reproduce it. It works fine here. I think I've seen an issue once or twice in the past, where the mod did not work after you start the game for the first time after an update.
Maybe that's what happend. It's hard to debug, because it only happens the first time after an update and it's "fixed" automatically by restarting the game.
@PsychoDad That's exactly what's happening. Sometimes it's just fine, sometimes it's not.
@PsychoDad Since this last launcher update, the message is 'please update'. Stupid launcher....
@iammistahwolf Does it work after restarting the game or do you get the message all the time now, after you've updated the launcher?
@PsychoDad It's weird. Lately, it's been working when I start the game up. When it doesn't, restarting doesn't help.
@PsychoDad Yeah, the last 3 updates have completely broken this mod. I tried using an .asi updater to get this working again, but no joy. Hope you have the time and interest to look at a possible fix.
Can anyone confirm that it still works? I guess it doesn't work as intended. :(
I'm on an actual update 1.3274+
