Everyone get ready for the biggest update this mod ever will have, adding TONS of new stuff such as alot of new liveries for all the trucks and busses and vans, tons of good popgroups updates, a ton of addon vehicles, and alot more. Will be released somewhere from 1-3 months from now. But be ready this is gonna be the best traffic mod to ever touch GTA V!
Hello everyone! I recently got into modding GTA singleplayer. I noticed a lack of variety in traffic. I wanted to create this mod so there's much more variety of cars to choose when driving around.
There is a bunch of variety of vehicles that spawn in different locations. Most of the supercars/ sports cars spawn in the rich part of the city. Most of the middle class cars spawn in the middle part of the city, The more beat up cars spawn in the poorer part of the city, And most off-road vehicles spawn in the countryside.
Requirements to install- Open IV, Scripthook V, Simple trainer, And of course GTA V (can be done with steam or epic games)
Important:
(I HAVE ALOT OF FUTURE PLANS FOR THIS MOD)
(IN A FUTURE UPDATE IT WILL TURN INTO AN OIV PACKAGE FOR ALOT MORE TO BE ADDED)
(THIS MOD WILL NOT WORK ON CONSOLES).
How to install- Once you have Open IV installed, create a mods folder. Then drag the updates folder into the mods folder.
Once this is all complete, open mods>updates>updates.rpf>x64>levels>gta5> then replace the popgroups.ymt file with the new downloaded one.
While all of this you need to be in edit mode. It should be a button once you launch OpenIV.
For the simple trainer and scripthook v, download them using this website, then go to the main directory of gta 5 and paste the files needed. Look up on YouTube how to install the trainer and scripthook for more detail.
Some bugs I have noticed are that the cars disappear when you get close to them. This is because you don't have the simple trainer installed. I'm pretty new to this so that was the only bug so far that I'm aware of.
This mod is fully customizable. If you want to delete a car that you dont want, double click on the popgroups.ymt and delete the name of that car. IF you want to replace a car, change the name of a certain car to the new one you please.
To remove the mod- Make sure you have your old popgroups.ymt backed up on your computer somewhere. You just have to follow the same steps you did to put in the new popgroups.ymt. mods>updates>updates.rpf>x64>levels>gta5> then replace the popgroups.ymt file with the old original one.

v7.5: removed a few cars I forgot to remove in v7, nothing major hence 7.5
V LC: This isnt v8, but major credits to Foolsbry for merging the LC preservation project's popgroups and this one.
V8: Added a bunch of new dlc cars, Including my favorite car irl (coquette d5)
v9: Went for a ton of realism. I removed a ton of unrealistic cars and added a ton of realistic ones. The mod feels way more realistic and modern now. However, there is still a lot of really cool supercars that can spawn, the spawn rate is just decreased for them. And v10 is when it may start with going further then just dlc cars with a lot of new changes, so stay tuned!

Will you make a new version that includes the new cars from the Money Fronts DLC?

Hey boss I'm having some issues with the 'gta effect' each time I start the game up I get a different pool of vehicles, but it seems like that pool is made up of a handful of vehicles in each instance of the game. Is there a way to adjust this through gameconfig, packfile, heap, etc...?
@marshracing hey, sorry for the really late response, but yea, add packfilelimit, heap, gameconfig, and even go into the games settings in its main root and find vehiclevarietymutiplier, and set it to like 3, im on vacation but when my next update releases all of these changes will be in the OIV. and when you launch the game, make sure the bar for variety is all the way up

bro mod is broken. I replaced popgroups but I see the same car models everywhere, only the colors are slightly different.
The file I changed was better. For example, there's a car that comes with DLC on the road, which is fine, but there are 20 or 30 of those cars. Think of it like in the GTA 4 game Liberty City, where there are yellow taxis everywhere. It's the same thing.
