(updated 5-5-2015) I tweaked this mod for myself, but since I saw a few people requesting this kind of mod I decided to post it online.
I did not make the mod myself, I just altered some settings. To create the effect I wanted, I used the SweetFX preset of K-Putt.
Basically what this mod does, is making nights way darker. (screenshots look slightly darker then in-game).
I also tried to make lights a little brighter, in this way players are happy to have flashlights on their guns, with the headlights of the vehicles and lights at the landingstrips. Thunder will look absolutely stunning, and you could watch at the citylights for hours.
Ajust your game brightness to your own likings, I prefer having it all the way down.
If you want to use the darker nights in an other preset, just copy the setting from levels and liftgammagain (and maybe bloom, if you want to).
To enable the mod ingame: press f12.
-update: many people asked me to make it brighter, so thats what I did. It still is pretty dark, but you can see more things without needing your lights. But when its raining, or when you are in a plane the game will still be very dark. Also: I changed some more stuff, so the fps drop will be way less.

can you make it a auto in still
At first my game was crashing on start-up, but it suddenly started working and it looks great!
The mod is good but it goes on a crashing streak sometimes and it takes a few hours for me to launch the game again
you guys realize this was made and updated last in 2015 right? and the creator went dark in 2016
Congratulations on creating what might be the worst god damn install tutorial out of every single GTA 5 mod. I don't understand how anybody could figure out how to make the mod work. Make a fucking video tutorial next time if you can't properly explain how to install.

guys, the way you use this mod is to put the files in the game directory (avoid placing the 'd3d11.dll' file from Darker nights mod).
Plus an additional file that you need to download from here, https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/reshade-sweetfx-graphics-mod
And, copy the 'reshade.fx' and 'dxgi.dll' file from K-putt's Sweet FX to the game directory
So I've been trying to install this modification for days without any success.
the read me texts were far too long in places where you didn't need any information there where you had to carry out the instalation then there was a lack of text. I would be very happy if you could upload the installation again as a video, thanks in advance

Hey guys I was struggling getting a standalone dark nights for a while as I noticed a lot of realistic ones were in huge mod packages. @Slash_Alex gave some info in the VisualV comments section in what to edit in the weather files and even shared his weather files which give an amazing dark ass night. i have QuantV. is there a certain parameter that i can change for QuantV so the graphics stay the same but i still get darker nights? When i install onto QuantV the weathers change to something different.
i didnt realize this was reshade version before typing nevermind.
It increases the saturation and also makes days too bright.
I press F12 and nothing happens... Please help, everything used to work, but after installing one mod it stopped, I deleted the mod, but it still doesn't work.
@nevergn @nevergn becouse this mod have the file ded11.dll and NVIDIA driver version 536.99 and 536.67 don´t supports it
