Cops: Back on the Beat 2.2

V2.2
- Fixed an issue with the bike cops not showing up
V2.1
- Merged old popgroups.ymt with Rockstar's latest, as well as popcycle.dat file.
- Readded police3 into the city police car table
- Reduced police car spawns in the city
- Supports OpenIV Package Installer
V2.0
- Sheriff's patrol the countryside and San Andreas Highway Patrol take it to the highways. Should you have "Travel to North Yankton" mod installed as well, you will see State Patrol out in North Yankton.
This mod was created to provide the player with a more classic GTA experience, bringing the danger of patrolling cops back to the streets - on foot or in their patrol vehicles. The values have been tuned according to the districts and zones are populated with police to a point where they're not common but not too uncommon to be seen only rarely.
You will also see police cars if you take it to GTA Online, but be wary, the patrolling officers pay close attention to their hot sheets... You know how the department feels about stolen cars!
You can't play GTA: Online with modded archives anymore, so that is not supported. Soz. :(

Big thanks to Unmutual and Custo in helping me set up the files and test, as well as Linxu and RoyalMonaco in testing it.

If you downloaded the recent update, you'll probably want to re-download the mod if you want the reduced cop spawns, I pushed a slightly outdated file with the incorrect values, this has now been corrected. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Does this mod still work? It hasn't been updated for a while
Nevermind it works perfectly 👍
For anyone wondering, yes the mod still works as of 10/26/2023 I have it installed with countless other mods like better chases and arrest warrants, and pull me over. Any time you install with an .ovi you need to replace the gameconfig with the newest one available. Thats usually what causes most crashes with older package installers. Hope this helps!
How to uninstall????
This mod has a issue, when you go to the city, only appear the 02 police car model
@Olanov can you make this compatible with liberty cry?
I really need to uninstall this, with 5x traffic there are too many police to get anything done on story mode
police doesnt spawn at all
@Olanov i have loved this mod for years now and I come here today to ask ur permission for me to release my own pop files containing some of ur code. I am aware that your account hasn't had any activity but if i do decide to release it i will give full credit to u. My pop files will enable both online and cop cars to spawn together i have it working currently but still polishing I hope this gets to u have a good one.
how to delete this mod?
@matthew59 only easy way is hope you put it in your mods if so just delete that folder i think
Adds immersion and realism.
is it compatible with RDE?
ok so for those getting mini hiccups, like myself, just uninstall this mod.
how to uninstall it you ask? this is the way i did it:
1 - open BackOnTheBeat.oiv with Winrar
2 - open assembly.xml
3 - there you'll see where the files get replaced:
mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5\popcycle.dat
mods\x64a.rpf\levels\gta5\popgroups.ymt
4 - launch OpenIV
5 - go to the unmodded update.rpf and browse to common\data\levels\gta5\ and extract popcycle.dat somewhere
6 - go to the unmodded x64a.rpf\levels\ and extract popgroups.ymt somewhere
7 - go to mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5\ and drop the popcycle.dat you extracted on step 5
8 - go to mods\x64a.rpf\levels\gta5\ and drop the popgroups.ymt you extracted on step 6
you're done. perhaps you just need to delete these two:
mods\update\update.rpf\common\data\levels\gta5\popcycle.dat
mods\x64a.rpf\levels\gta5\popgroups.ymt
and GTA will load the defaults but since this worked for me, imma keep it so. please do let me know if just deleting the installed files would be enough.
also, the Cops on Patrol.oiv included in https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/pull-me-over-daimian doesn't give me performance issues and spawns cops pretty nicely. i combined it with Pull Me Over & Better Chases+ for that traffic laws experience.
Great :D
@madalone What version of native UI and scripthook did you use? Mine wont load and just closes the game in start. Can you help?
@jaybaby47 you can replace the mod files with the game directory file, you can see which files are added if you change the oiv file into a zip file
is this compatible with rde?
