Hi there. My goal is to convert and create top-notch weapons for GTA V now and I'm very specific
about my weapon choices and my schedule, but I hope I will have a more free schedule to do this stuff.
I appreciate your support, don't forget to follow, comment, rate and etc. I will upload more weapons soon, but for my work to continue i must ask everyone with Zmodeler 3.1.3. to conact me so my models wouldn't have export bugs.

-Normal and specular maps
-custom black and white icon
-custom colored icon
-perfectly aligned and scaled model
-player holds the weapon slightly angled (because of the wielding technique)
Bugs: None found yet.
Notes: If you have other weapon icon mods, you must combine them with my sole icon. (requires some basic PS knowledge)
Installation:
With OpenIV go to: Grand Theft Auto V\Mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\weapons.rpf
OR depending on your game\patchday8ng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\weapons.rpf
In Edit Mode:
- Replace the files "w_me_bat.ydr" and "w_me_bat.ytd" using the files from the folder.
Installing Weapon Icon:
With OpenIV go to:Grand Theft Auto V/Mods/update/update.rpf/x64/patch/data/cdimages/scaleform_generic.rpf
In Edit Mode:
-Replace the files "hud.ytd" and "mp_big_message_freemode.ytd" from the folder of your desired icon.
All done.

Calling it "perfectly aligned" isn't really fair, considering it's not even true. The handle clips through the fingers a lot, as you can see in the screenshots, because of the 'wielding technique,' and, because it replaces the bat, the character places their hands around the sword awkwardly and nearly slices their fingers off.
Swords really need to stop replacing the Bat, honestly. Beautiful weapon model, but awful weapon slot choice. I suggest that you make it replace the Hatchet. Sadly, that will make them hold it one-handed, but at least he won't rest his hand on the blade like an idiot. lol
Overall, cool mod. It works correctly, and the model is nice, but I can't really say much else. The weapon slot choice and the angled placement really detracts more than it adds.
Make it replace Hatchet. Maybe i'll download it.

@Zedd Well, I went by the fact that the katana is a two handed weapon, and the animations of the bat and the golf club are almost the same, there is also an animation period after swinging when the player slides his hands higher up the club and then back to the grip point that clips through the katana a bit, but it was this, or having the grip waay lower which would look worse 90% of the time, so I chose the lesser of two evils. Again, since the katana is EXCLUSIVELY a two-handed weapon i angled the weapon by two axes because that is the only way a katana can be effectively wielded irl, and as for replacing the hatchet you can do it by yourself by renaming the files.
@Shadow As for making Add-ons, I have very little time to learn about that, or view any tutorials about that. I've said earlier that if anyone wants to help me out on this I would be very glad to do collab work

@blade125 Makes sense. I guess it just depends on your preference. I'd rather have the weapon's usage look a little inaccurate than have their hands clipping through the weapon. Well argued.

For anyone that still uses this mod, it works great in the Battle Axe slot if you don't mind using one hand instead of two! Good quality model, loads of fun to use!
