Hey, I'm really having a great time with this mod but I have two questions.
1. When I'm killed by an NPC and I respawn, Zee tells me they marked the person who has my stuff, but I never see that marker on my map. Is there any way to make sure that shows up so I can go get my stuff back?
2. One of my dealers managed to get caught in the world geometry and I can't get close enough to interact with them. Is there any debug function or something I can use to teleport them to me?
Thanks for all your hard work!
The latest changes to this mod are fantastic. The controllable spawn points, the custom area zones, and the real-time AI gang wars are all awesome.
The only issue I'm having is that when a gang is wiped out, it's replaced with a randomly generated one. I could have sworn in an earlier version there was a "minimum number of gangs" or an "enable/disable introducing new gangs" option. Is there still a setting for that?
Cheers!
Works exactly as expected. A million times better than fighting women in bikinis with Up-N-Atomizers. Thank you!
This mod is amazing. It's solid, works as advertised, has tons of configurability, and has led to some fantastic in-game combat. Thank you!
Hi, I just want to say thanks for such a great mod. Are there any mods you recommend that would work well with it to increase gang presence in neighborhoods? The rival dealers are awesome but they only seem to show up during dealing.
@danistheman262 well my first thought was: i assume there's a way to spawn police peds and cars without the AI being active, right? you know the closest intersections and can put police there outside of the player's view, ready to have their AI turned on once the player has left the bank with the loot.
but the more i think about it the more i think there needs to be some sort of manhunt mod, where police systematically walk an area of the map, with the ability for the wanted level to go down disabled until the manhunt is over. if a bank is robbed the police may not necessarily show up and start shooting. they may instead cordon the block and do a dragnet.
maybe i should just try and make Arrest Warrants understand robbery as a crime. that would mean consequences even after a successful robbery. also then there'd be a difference between robbing a bank with a mask and without one, since facial appearance is used as a factor in cop's recognition in Arrest Warrants
Is there any way to get the police to show up earlier? With the wanted level set to five, Six Star Response, Better Chases + Arrest Warrants, and this mod, I can still start the game, pick up a pistol, rob the nearest Fleeca, and make a completely clean getaway every time. Basically I'm looking to make it much more challenging.
Otherwise this is a really fun mod, thank you!
Hey there, and thanks for all your modding work.
Could you clarify how vehicles are identified? I'm using a mod which modifies license plate numbers and it's not clear to me if a car can still be identified after a plate number change. Obviously the warrant should stay in the database but maybe the HUD should change in this case if the police will NEVER be able to find the vehicle, or a scaled detection system should be used (same paint/plates = 1x detection speed, different paint/same plates = 0.8x detection speed, same paint/different plates = 0.5x detection speed)
Alternatively, it would be interesting if the detection mechanism for vehicles was different than for the player's description. In the case of the player, police are scanning people visually, so the further one gets away from the police the slower or less likely their detection will be. But if you're running a car's plates, it doesn't matter how far you are from the cops; either the plates match a hot car or they don't, and you will find out even if the car drives off.
This would work to great effect with Pull Me Over. It's a coincidence, but the time it takes for a cop to pull you over with that mod is about the same time as the detection delay, so if you are pulled over, the cop will pair you with a warrant by the time they walk over to your vehicle, making it dangerous to be caught with a warrant matching your appearance. But if the warrant only matches the vehicle, and you're pulled over, you will only get a ticket for the traffic violation: despite being in a vehicle that matches a warrant making you, quite obviously, the car thief they're *also* looking for.
Wow sorry that's a lot of fucking text lmao anyway thanks
I was looking for a way to remove the stolen flag. I came across the mod "License Plate Forger". That mod normally reduces your wanted level when you change your plate, but I modified it so that changing the license plate removes the Stolen flag. It works, sort of. When using Arrest Warrants, a vehicle warrant will still show up after changing plates, but the police will no longer have their recognition levels raised when around the car. I'm also using Pull Me Over, and I've seen the following effects (but need to test more):
1. If the car is stolen, and the player is not wanted, then a minor traffic infraction will cause an arrest because the police will be standing there long enough to recognize the stolen car.
2. If the car has had its plates changed, and the player is wanted, then a minor traffic infraction won't cause an arrest because Pull Me Over, AFAICT, doesn't know about the warrant system.
I'm also using Pull Me Over; AFAICT the warrants aren't "known" to Pull Me Over, so you cannot get pulled over for a minor traffic infraction and then arrested because your plates were pulled.
If I can somehow access the Arrest Warrants info from inside License Plate Forger mod I might be able to make it so that changing the plates removes the vehicle warrant entirely, and if I can modify Pull Me Over I want to add plate checks for traffic infractions.
I love the idea of this mod but the cops seem really ineffective. If I'm going double the speed limit in downtown vinewood a cop will notice, but if i keep going another 30-45 seconds they will never catch up to me. So in effect any of the possible violations can be dealt with by speeding off, but not far enough that the patrol car loses sight of me.
I'm curious if other people see the same behavior.
