The Better_And_Realistic_Vehicle_Options_With_Control script is a modification that draws inspiration, concept, and initial implementation from Stop Reversing While Braking / Vehicle Options by IAmJFry.

We can decide what we want to enable / disable, so we have the choice of what we want to use / not use.
Thanks to this, we can adjust it for ourselves to make it better and more realistic if we want.
The script is fully customizable and everyone can set their own settings and behaviors and assign keys and buttons as they like. There is support for both keyboard and gamepad.
Manual configuration can be done from the system in the file Better_And_Realistic_Vehicle_Options_With_Control.ini

This allows for better script optimization, and this was also planned from the beginning, but wasn't implemented correctly in version v1.0. Additionally, during important phone calls/missions and when two people are talking in the same vehicle, the character should still be able to speak – this will prevent us from accidentally losing important information.
- Maybe something else I'm not mentioning here and have forgotten about.

Bug fixes, improvements, and improved code and features have been added.
This version has been optimized to work correctly in Enhanced mode and is being tested as such, but it should also work 99% correctly in Legacy mode. It's not certain, but there shouldn't be any issues.
I don't recommend using the script to complete the game 100% because it can cause random problems during a mission. However, you can always check which setting is causing the problem and disable it in the .ini file for the duration of the mission, setting it to false - etc. and then reload the script. It's not a serious issue, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Copy / drag all contents of the extracted "Better_And_Realistic_Vehicle_Options_With_Control.zip" to the scripts folder

I'm working on saving the position of the turned wheels after closing the game and restarting it.
I have it ready, but I want to add something else in the update, so version 1.2 should be available in a week or two :)

This would be a very nice option :) In version 1.1, the Auto_Brake_Lights_When_Stopped option doesn't work. Whether you enter true or false, the brake lights stay on when stopped.9 dage siden -
Are you using the latest original game? And the latest Script Hook V?
What version of Script Hook V .Net do you have?
I specifically downloaded the version from gta5mods v1.1 here and tested it on Enhanced, and it works fine. I don't have the ability to test on Enhanced. But an old version of something could be causing this.
Debugging with True shows that it works when stopped, and you can see it – but with False debugging enabled, the brake light isn't visible either as debug information or on the vehicle.
Maybe you have another script installed that causes this as well?
First, answer my questions; maybe we'll find the cause right away. You can also record a short YouTube video with Debug_Mode = True showing the brake light working even though it shouldn't.

This is about the legacy version of the game. Everything worked fine in the 1.0 version of the mod. I have the original game (Steam) and the latest script hook from March 18. I tested it with ScriptHookVDotNetnightly versions 107-110. I don't have any other scripts, and only this option doesn't work properly; the rest works.9 dage siden -

But what I've checked so far is a random 50% code fault/something else's fault, because according to what I've determined, it should still work correctly. And you should check if you're using the new .ini file.
Between v1.0 and v1.1, the .ini layout and formatting changed.
If you're using an old, buggy file, the brake light might not work for you.
But I don't know because you haven't provided much data, a YT video, or a screenshot of your entire GTA folder with the files and script folder, etc.
I don't know how you're testing this. It's best to start the game without the .ini file first, and it will generate it automatically. Then minimize the game and set Auto_Brake_Lights_When_Stopped = False.
Don't forget to reload the script during gameplay or completely close the game and restart it with the setting false to test it again.

I'm using version 1.1 the same way as 1.0. I deleted the files from version 1.0, uploaded those from version 1.1, and edited the .ini file for my own use. Whether I set this to false or true, the brake lights stay on when the vehicle stops, even if I'm not pressing the brake. They go out when I start moving. I'll check what you wrote this way and post back later. It worked fine in version 1.0.9 dage siden -

Working as intended. What a great mod in my opinion. But I have some concerns. I don't know if it's a Enhanced/Game Limitation. the Key press behavior cancels the trigger of a specific key. For example, the Engine Start "spacebar" key. You have to hold spacebar only, if you press any other key, the trigger will be cancelled, so you're holding spacebar for awhile not knowing that the car will not start unless you repress the spacebar and hold it for 3 seconds again. Next concern is the response time when you press a key. For example, when you press F or hold F, it will take some time for the character to exit the car or exit the car while engine is off.
I hope there is a way for to make it quicker.
